Starting where we are
Although I’ve been a dedicated blogger in the past, I’ve hesitated to start this one. The hesitation has been because of wanting to be clear about my purpose and what I can offer. All my old doubts and uncertainties have been busy unravelling my ideas, just as fast as I’ve been weaving them.
Now that I see this, I realise it’s as good a place to start as any! Perhaps the only place - just where I am right now.
Where I am is at the beginning of this new venture, in the company of some very familiar companions - perfectionism, overwhelm, fear of visibility among them. And I’m remembering a piece of wisdom that continues to help me:
Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can.*
What I have is my creativity, determined to travel this new path of sharing what I’m learning in a blog. I also have compassion for those scared and hurt parts of me that try to block the way.
What I can do is share this with you today, and encourage you too to apply it to whatever you might be feeling stuck with. This is my first imperfect but sincere invitation
~ Notice where you are and fully acknowledge it.
~ Remember the resources you have and focus on them rather than what you think is missing
~ Take one step in the direction your creativity wants to take you.
Now I’ve taken my first step I’ll see you again soon!
