From summer 2019 to summer 2021 I was poet in residence for the Gems in the Dunes conservation project on the beautiful Sefton Coast. My aim was to get to know this unique and fragile landscape  throughout the changing seasons,  and to respond in poetry. I also invited others to join me in these adventures through online and outdoor workshops, and regular poetry walks.

Unable to visit for a long stretch of time due to the pandemic, I  retained my connection with the coastal landscape through painting, and reflecting on the experience through poetry.

Some of my poems and those of participants who came along to my workshops can be found on my blog, Writing from the Dunes.
